FKP Peregian Springs Open – 2nd Round (QLD)

Well that ends my nice little two weeks away from uni. I’ve been pretty disappointed with my scores so some work on the swing is needed. I haven’t been putting in the practice, but I do know what good swings feel like and it would be nice to start making them again. My putting is on track which is real nice.

I’ll be heading back to uni for a while and may be lucky enough to get one week more of pro-ams before the end of the Uni semester. We shall see what happens from there.

My gosh there was some low scoring out there today. I can’t remember ever seeing a pro-am where -2 didn’t get paid?!?

Ahh bugger! I was -2 with four to play and let a decent round slide by. I’m going to change putters tomorrow. The thing I’ve been wielding clearly isn’t working.

Congrats to Tony Carolan on his sweet win today. He holed his second shot for eagle from 85m on his last hole of the day to win by a shot!

Had a quad on the first which was a pain.

So that ends the short Darwin swing. Interesting place Darwin… definitely quite culturally different. They sure don’t mind a drink up here.

Tonight I fly out to Brisbane for a week of pro-ams on the Sunshine Coast. Hopefully the uni marks don’t suffer too bad over this time away.

“Lord, help my putting woes…” 🙂

My first visit to the Northern Territory!

Hey guys (and gals!), I’m going to take a couple weeks off uni and travel to Darwin for a couple pro-ams and then the Sunshine Coast for a week. It is a big challenge taking this time off from uni but it will certainly give me a good idea for the future about how workable these sort of tournament trips will be as I study over the next four years.

It will certainly be nice to be in the tropical warmth again. Not quite sure if my golf game is ready to fire again yet. The swing is starting to feel real good but my short game and putting has a long way to go!
