An eagle and five birdies. Just gotta keep working towards consistency off the tee. I haven’t quite put my finger on what’s causing the troubles with the woods. It could even have something to do with the swing weights of my clubs. The woods are a far lighter swing weight compared to the irons.

Winner winner, chicken dinner! I’m very pleased getting the win. AND, for the record, eight other players thought they’d soak up that winning feeling today too. In what was a Pro Am first, nine players shared first place. That’s right, nine! When Broc presents the club next year with the plaque displaying a photo of the previous years winners he will have to stick passport photos on it. Otherwise he’ll need some sort of panoramic picture frame.
Haha, think about… Just imagine the thoughts in a few of the winners minds when they saw the shrunken first place check from the shared prizemoney… “why did I bogey the last?!”
But none of the players would have been questioning the quality of the Murwillumbah GC layout which has some of the best greens we’ll play on all year. I managed to score an eagle, five birdies and five bogies around it. I played a few holes very well and combined that with some terrible golf shots on others.
Overall, I’ll take the first place and run 🙂

An easy course made tough by the rain, wind and rough greens. It’s one of those courses where you just have to hit your shot, focus on what you can control and avoid getting caught up in the outcome of your shots. Otherwise, “you’ll do your head in” watching the ball bounce all over the greens!!
Call it a good mental test.
