Nagashima Shigeo Invitational SEGA Sammy Cup 2009 – Practice Round
Man, the courses in Japan just keep getting better! Each has had it’s unique characteristics which would appeal to golfers based on their personal preferences but, in saying that, a true golfer can appreciate each golf course by the challenge it poses to them and the game they bring to the course on a given day.
The North Country Golf Club is situated in Hokkaido, a providence in northern Japan more known for it’s ski resorts.
The North Country Course has the most mown grass I’ve ever seen on a golf course. The grounds keepers would work long hours to keep the rough cut to a reasonable length. Even though there are acres of rough, the fairways are quite narrow and require precision driving. When you reach the green you will still face a stiff examination of your short game on the sloping slick greens.
Yet again has the Japan Tour presented a course in immaculate condition. Not only is the course great but the practice facilities and hospitality areas are fantastic. I’m looking forward to this venue…. One shot at a time…..
